The definition of a christian is a follower of Jesus Christ. A follower is some one who subscribes to teaching and living style. I realize that there is more depth to the following concept the this. Like placing trust for eternal life and hope of the resurrection and above all washing away of sinfulness.

When a person accepts Christ as savior there is a first response ,joy and child like trust. time wears on and we gravitate to what is socially accepted rather the Jesus comanded-like simple trust.

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you shall be saved. The gospel is that God did for us, through Jesus’ death and resurrection, something that we can’t do for our selves; and he did it because he loves us. period.

Christian prison is when we place spiritual notches on our belts. When we do churchee things like teach or attend services regularly or give tithe. and that plus jesus work is what we really think will get us in to heaven.

When we stop preaching the gospel to ourselves we get in danger. Preaching the gospel to myself is constantly acknowledging my absolute bent toward sin and godlessness, and my inability on my own to do anything about it and my continual need to cling to the finished work of Jesus to save me. and that while I am still dead in my sin and trespass God so loved me that he gave his only son to save me.

When christians deside to not do something because of what people my think or because of anything other then the writen scripture it becomes christian prison.

    Well said.

  2. Shelly says:

We are to be in the world but we are not of the world. We do not belong to the world, we belong to God. We should be acting like Christ, not the world.

    Romans 12:2
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

    Thanks for the inspiring thoughts.
