Kingdom of the Gospel

You’ve heard the story, Jesus riding on a young donkey into Jerusalem, walking obediently to the alter for the Fathers purpose, to sacrifice the ultimate. (john 12)

Hosanna being shouted, the only time in scripture Jesus allowed the people to claim him King in a public setting. When just days before he disappeared into the wilderness after the 5000 where fed and wanted to set him up as king.(jn 6:15)

The disciples, i am sure , where wondering what was going on. because shortly before this Jesus said The appearing of the Kingdom will not be appearing in a show or public way.(luke17:20)

Hosanna ( save, I beseech you) was being shouted, From Psalm 118:26, King Davids kingdom a prelude of the everlasting Kingdom. Its was a common shout as the people inside Jerusalem where bringing sacrifices to the alter, that in itself a prelude to what was about to happen.

Matthew 6:10 we are to pray for Thy Kingdom to come, thy will be done.

The Kingdom, in John 12, Jesus starts to talk about a seed needing to die so that much fruit can be born, then He says ” the man who loves his life will loss it.”

Collassian 3 brings the Kingdom, the main topic of the Bible, together. “Our life is hidden in Christ’s” Then a list of idolatry that we ALL have and hold too, is given for us to cast off or put to death. just like that seed Jesus talked about needing to die in order for much fruit to be produced.

the Kingdom is the gospel, Jesus, king in our hearts. We can’t serve our idol and Jesus at the same time.

Let the word of God dwell in you richly. Identify the idol, hold on to the cross, and live.  Let sunday be a real day of worship.
