Ajuga blow your horn

ajuga is bubble weed and it does warrent a trumpet entrance. Ajuga is a great replacement for vinca. Ajuga is a ground cover with action and grace. The plants flow nicely in between planted perennials, to remove blank spots. Its goes well in between rocks, pavers and slate patios and filles in nicely on a shady edge of asphalt driveway.

We grow starter plugs, commonly called liners in the greenhouse industry. Black Scallop is a favorite in my garden. it stays dark almost black well into the winter.

Ajuga like shade and filtered sun. they generally are 6″ off ground and are good at contrasting other brighter colors. they make a nice walkable carpet.and are hardy zone 3-9 a wide range of home.

Planters and mixed containers are especially well suited for Ajuga.  My basic thought on them in a container or in between perennials is they become my natural mulch with out choking out their neighbors.

So, can we blow our horns together?
