A Womens Smile

I am ok, excepted and found to be needed.

It was in the summer at a Friends Meeting house in near Annapolis that I caught her gaze and her charming smile. We met out on the big porch, away from the adults feeling good about their lives, and chatted about our own lives. I was wishing that we would meet again. We just talked and connected. And that was that, but a memory of a smile, and an escape from being caught in an adult world and so close to our own personal freedom. My Uncle who’s commune i was staying in that weekend almost persuaded his wife to allow a get to gether with her family. NO. I playEd chess and drank wine with another dude staying there.

Smiles are a disarming quality a women possess. Does she know just how us manly men need it?

When I was close to the end of high school, a time I thought would never come, I looked across the learning center to see a girl with a charming smile. We met on the stair case and she allowed a kiss. joy. She latter became my wife and still has the most lovely of smiles. And in her smiles I find life’s ache burst in to a happy song.

But beside the boy girl chemistry there is a need in a man to have a women smile at him. It’s the signal from “the only suitable helper” that life is ok and every thing will be fine, and I will help you and walk beside you.

Most of us men have been raised by women, sunday school teacher, grade school teacher, and mom and grandma. it’s also that women influence that is engrained to respond too. that we did well in the test as a man.

We men are never to old to respond with a feeling of pride to have a women smile at us.
