time out

one of the best lines i heard this weekend was to take time to conscientiously examine what one is thankful for. I’m reminded often from one gentleman that he is thankful just to open his eyes in the morning and plant his feet on the floor. its those basic things that get lost often. but to sit quietly and examine internal thankfulness is a chore. a good chore. Its like the computer system in a car searching all the various systems for safety flow and lighting the engine light on the dash when a system needs working on.

as you know all to well life is fast paced. and that spans all economic groups. just to stop and think is a chore. especially when your fast paced life is survival or crash.

this may sound a bit crude but i went through a time where i just couldn’t make it to the gym, filled with children, diapers, wife maintenance and job responsibilities into the night.. my solution… i end up in the bathroom daily to shower, so 2 sets of 20 to 30 push ups was a relief. another instance of needing to meditate in prayer was never quite realized… so another word was heard and the suggestion was you drive to work, da turn off the radio and pray out load eyes open who cares.

the exercise of thankful heart is to remove the negative long enough to see the big picture. the picture of cosmic proportion and individual blessing.

i’m doing good today…..much better then i deserve…..you?
